Magnesium Sulfate is widely used to improve soil that is short of  Magnesium. 

For example, it is used in tropical regions to enhance the productivity of palm and rubber trees. 

It is also beneficial for  potatoes, roses, tomatoes, hot peppers, tobaccos, marijuana and other crops when soil Magnesium Levels are low.

Application as animal food supplement
Magnesium Sulfate is also used as supplementation in animal 
nutrition as a source of Magnesium. 

Magnesium is essential for livestock bone formation and for 
curing livestock muscle contractions. Magnesium is the activating agent of many kinds of enzymes in the bodies of livestock and  plays 
an important role in animal metabolism and  neurological function. 
Magnesium deficiency in livestock may result in metabolism 
disorder and neurological dysfunction, limit livestock growth and even cause livestock death.
